Boston Terrier Clipart

Whoo hoo! I'm so excited to finally finish my Boston Terrier clipart!

Super cute Boston Terrier clipart. 39 images in all: colour, grayscale and outlines. You'll love these adorable graphics!
My very first dog was a little Boston Terrier called Muggins.

I had begged and begged and begged my parents for YEARS: "Can we PLEASE get a dog?"

They finally gave in when I was 10 and boy was I happy!

Muggins came to live with us when he was 2-years-old.  I remember my mom thought he was very funny looking, but I thought he was the most beautiful dog in the world and could not have loved him more.

For some reason, Muggins has been on my mind a lot, so I decided to make this clipart as a tribute to my adorable first dog.

There are 39 images in all and they range in size from about 5 inches to 12 inches wide.

The colour images include:
  • dog in a mug
  • dog on a cushion
  • dog in glasses
  • standing dog
  • play bow dog
  • dog head
  • 5 bones
  • 5 paws
  • 2 bowls
  • 1 text (I love Boston Terriers)
The set also includes all the above images in grayscale and as outlines (you can see them below).

As with all clipart, you'll be able to easily reduce them in size and they'll still look fabulous, but increasing their size is not recommended, as they'll pixelate and look a wee bit blurry. That's why I made them extra large!

They're all png images at 300 dpi which means they'll look great both on screen and when printed. A png file is an image with a transparent background, so they're perfect for layering.

If you'd like a closer look or would like to purchase them you can:

My First Watercolour Snowman

I just painted my first snowman!

I painted this sweet snowman with a facebook tutorial: Watercolors by Michael!

Well...it's probably not my VERY first. I'm sure I must have painted lots of snowmen when I was in elementary school.

But for the last year I've been dabbling in watercolours. I've gone to a few local classes and I've been practicing at home.

November 2017 Calendar Wallpaper: Freebie

I just finished a foxy November desktop calendar. I made this little fox about a year ago and just recently rediscovered him. I'm glad I did because I think he's a lovely addition to the November calendar.

Let's Doodle: Geometric Practice Pages

Do you like to doodle?

It can be very relaxing.

Not only that, doodling can help improve your memory and may help with stress relief and focus (Harvard Health Publishing, 2016).

And as a bonus, the finished results are often surprisingly cool and interesting to look at.

Last summer I downloaded the sheet below and spent part of an afternoon doodling with one of my micron pens. Unfortunately, even after looking all over my desktop and online I simply can NOT find the source for this worksheet.  If you happen to know where it came from please let me know and I'll add the proper link.

Hard to Design With a Busted Shoulder

I haven't been around much because ....

I went for a bike ride ten days ago and had a teeny tiny accident. I rode up onto the sidewalk (on the driveway part) but neglected to angle my wheel properly.

As I flew off the bike I had a split second to think, "Oh, man. This is gonna hurt!" before I landed.

And I was right.

After many kind bystanders, the police, and paramedics came to my aid I found myself in the local emergency ward with a busted shoulder.

I've had to put my running, cycling and designing on temporary hold.

Tomorrow, though, I'm going to attempt my water colour class.

Oh! Did I mention? I'm right-handed. It will be fun regardless :)

Happy October and stay safe, friends!

Autumn Mandala: Free Colouring Page

Autumn Mandala: Free Colouring Page

Although it's still officially summer it definitely feels like autumn where I live.

The kids are now back to school, the hot days have become warm and I'm noticing some leaves turning colour and falling to the ground. This is my favourite time of year!

I've been learning how to make mandalas this week and thought it would be fun to make an autumn mandala to share. So here's one that I've turned into a colouring page.

I hope it's the first of many because I was thinking of making a colouring book of mandalas aimed at 4 to 7 year olds. Mandalas can be very complicated, but I purposefully kept this one simple so that even the most reluctant crayon artist (I just made that up but I think it works) will be tempted to take crayon (or felt) to paper.

The pdf can be printed onto an 81/2 by 11 inch paper.

If you grab it I'd love to hear some constructive feedback in the comments. Too simple? Too complicated? Not enough variety?

Before you go, be sure to check out my sugar skull colouring page, too!

New Sugar Skulls Clipart: Free Coloring Page

Happy September, Friends!

I have some new sugar skulls clipart to show you.

New Sugar Skulls Clipart: Day of the Dead

I've been meaning to make these beauties for over a year!

I just love all the different variations you can see online now.

The first time I saw a sugar skull I have to admit it kind of creeped me out. But the more I really looked at them and started to appreciate the colours and artistry, the more I started to love them.

As I'm sure you already know, sugar skulls are part of the Day of the Dead Mexican holiday (when deceased family members are honoured).

I did a little research and learned that the sugar skulls (calaveras) are either decorative and made of clay, or edible and made out of sugar. The calaveras made out of sugar are decorated with coloured icing, beads, foil and feathers! Both types of skulls are made for children or for altar offerings.

If you do a quick google search you can find tons of sugar skull recipes!

But if you're like me, and not so much into cooking, then you can buy the digital ones and print them out:)

In any case, I hope you like my version of the sugar skulls.

If you decide to purchase you'll receive 12 images in all (8 by 10 inches). Nine of them are coloured and three are black and white. There are three styles each done in three different colour palettes.

Cactus note paper!

It's cute, it's free and you can download it here.

It seems everywhere I look these days I'm seeing cactus motifs and I love 'em. They're on mugs, quotes, t-shirts, you name it.

So I decided to make this cactus note paper.

You have a choice of three different styles. A blank page, a lined page, and a page with "To Do" at the top.

You could use these to write someone a letter or to jot notes on at home or at school.

You could also easily customize the blank note paper by pasting into power point, Pic Monkey or Canva and adding whatever you like ~ perhaps some text so you could use it as a binder cover!

Free Envelope Template and Pretty Polka Dot Digital Paper by GradeONEderfulDesigns.com

This beautiful envelope is super simple to make using my template and pretty paper.

All you need to do is print the paper (8 1/2 by 11 inches) then flip it over and print the template on the other side.

Cut on the dark lines, fold on the dotted lines, glue the bottom and voila! Polka dot goodness.

The finished size is 5 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches tall.

You only need to add a white label to the front of the envelope to address it, and you're good to go.

And of course, if the polka dots aren't your thing, the envelope will look amazing in any coloured or scrapbook paper you happen to have on hand.

Other Uses for Envelope Template

  1. Birthday note

  2. Thank you note

  3. I love you note

  4. Lunch box note for your child

Scroll-to-Top Button: Blogger Tutorial

scroll to top blogger tutorial

A scroll-to-top button. Do you need one? Oh yes!

These are super handy to have, especially if you have a lot of posts, or several long posts, displayed on your blog feed.

It's a wee bit annoying when you're scrolling through someone's blog trying to find something and then when you want to go back to the top you have to manually scroll.

It's WAY easier to just click on the Scroll-to-Top button and WHOOSH you're there!

The button usually sits in the bottom right-hand corner of the blog. Sometimes it's a symbol (like mine) or it can even be the word "Top" or "Back to the Top" ... basically whatever you like.

Let's get started with this easy Blogger tutorial.

1. Create Your Scroll-to-Top Button

The first step is to create or find your image. If you google "scroll-to-top images" you will find lots of free ones that you can use.

OR you can click on the image below and grab the ones I made you. They're similar to the one on this blog, but in a variety of colours. The folder contains 4 separate png images, so it's easy to grab your favourite.
Scroll-to-top buttons and how to make for blogger. A quick and easy tutorial.

2. Upload Image to Your Blog

Before you can use the gadget code (below) you need to upload your new image onto your blog. Start a NEW post, upload the image and be sure to select original size.

Switch your viewing from COMPOSE to HTML.

You'll see a bunch of code. Look for something that looks like this:

You need to grab the part in PINK ONLY!

Now you need to add your source image code into the following:

<a style="display:scroll;position:fixed;bottom:5px;right:5px;" href="#" title="Back to Top"><img src="YOUR SOURCE IMAGE CODE" /></a>

Be sure to add YOUR code in place of the pink "Your Source Image Code".

Once you've done that, save (but do NOT publish) your post. I usually call this post "!!IMPORTANT Images!! Do NOT Publish".

3. Add the New Code to a Gadget

Now you need to copy your new code (the one above that starts with <a style= ....).

Go to your Blogger dashboard then to Layout. Scroll to the bottom and add a gadget. Choose HTML/Javascript. Paste your new code into the gadget and save (you don't need to add a title).

If you copied all the code correctly, you'll now have a brand new scroll-to-top button!

Prettiest Summer Bookmarks EVER!

Wow! It's been a long while since I last posted.

But I'm back and I have a super cute summer freebie for you.

I made up these four summery bookmarks with some watercolour paper I have.

4 free and beautiful summer bookmarks by Grade Onederful Designs

Each bookmark is about 8 inches long and  2 inches wide.

You can click the image and grab them from Google Docs. It's a LARGE file and won't let you preview so just click "Download" and you're good to go.

I printed mine out on plain white paper, but they'd be even better printed on card stock. All you need to do is laminate (if you want them to last a little longer) and cut.

I haven't tried this, but they'd probably look super cool printed out on watercolour paper, too.

I hope you love them!

Social Media Icons: Brand New in Pretty Party Colours

I just finished a fun new set of social media icons.

Social media icons in pretty party colours of blue, green, purple and yellow

I really enjoyed making these icons, mostly because I absolutely love these colours and how well they work together!

I found them in a colour set called "Party Palette" over at Heather's site,  The Chickabug Blog.

This is a new style of icon I'm trying out. As you can see, the edges aren't perfectly smooth. Instead I gave them a chalk pastel look.

What do you think? I think it gives them a little more life and whimsy, but I'll have to wait and see whether others feel the same way.

If you're in the market for some new social media icons, be sure to head over to either my ETSY SHOP or my TEACHERS PAY TEACHERS SHOP. As usual, you get 25 icons (including a blank one) in two sizes and all 4 colours for $3.

The 50 px size is meant to be used on a blog or website (they're quite small) but the larger, 400 px size is perfect to use on teacher product pages. They could also be easily downsized and used on business cards, too.

They're 300 dpi so they look great on either the web or printed out. Although please keep in mind that different printers render the colours a little differently.

Have a fabulous Saturday! And be sure to subscribe to the blog if you'd like to receive email notices of new products, posts and freebies.
